"Educational Opportunties are the Foundation of Everything We Do" -RMFU

Rocky Mountain Farmers Union Foundation

Our Foundation’s Cooperative Leadership Youth Program offers educational and innovative learning opportunities through its day classes and residential summer camp. These diverse experiences allow participants – ages 5-18 to explore ‘Cooperation’ – cooperative system and leadership development. Our camp attracts kids from urban as well as rural areas and delivers a unique opportunity for them to work together and create lifelong relationships. The program includes three five-day overnight camps for each specific age group and several day camps throughout our three-state region.

Cooperation is one of the founding values of Farmers Union. RMFU has been committed to its understanding and application to strengthen social and economic vitality of our communities. In 1991, RMFU established the Cooperative Development Center to focus on the development of cooperative businesses, assist groups and individuals to work cooperatively, and further the awareness of cooperatives as a viable, community wealth-generating business model. Our Education and Cooperative Development Center work together to ensure that all educational programs, including our Cooperative Leadership Youth Program, have the most innovative state-of-the-art tools available.

RMFU believes the ‘Cooperation Program’ provides a strong foundation for our future leaders by emphasizing core cooperative principles. We provide an opportunity to experience cooperation in a hands-on format year-after-year as we foster a brighter future for all.
