Local Food

Rocky Mountain Farmers Union supports initiatives to put local consumers and food producers together for mutual benefit through co-ops like High Plains Food Cooperative and Peak to Plains Alliance. RMFU partners with state programs to promote local foods in Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico.
•Colorado Proud is a program of the Colorado Department of Agriculture that promotes food and agricultural products that are grown, raised or processed in the state.
•New Mexico’s Taste the Tradition and Grow the Tradition programs identify and promote New Mexico agricultural products, including food, fiber, wine, produce, nuts, and livestock.
•The University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service’s Eat Wyoming program serves to improve relationships between consumers and producers of Wyoming foods.
