RMFU is a grassroots organization promoting the interests of family farmers, protecting our nation’s food, and sustaining rural communities through direct contact with legislators and government officials on the national and state level.
Policy is created at the local level and voted on at an annual convention. RMFU represents the views of its members as described in the policy documents. RMFU delegates to the National Farmers Union annual convention participate in the shaping of NFU policy.
RMFU advocates for issues impacting food, energy, conservation, rural life, and agriculture at the local, state, and national level. Each state of the RMFU region is served by a local legislative advocate.
During the legislative session, RMFU posts weekly updates to Colorado legislation.
