SB-28: Reduce Bonny Reservoir Evaporative Loss (Brophy/Gardner)

Background: Directs the division of wildlife and the division of parks and outdoor recreation to assign to the Colorado water conservation board (board) all appropriative and contractual rights for water stored at Bonny reservoir. Directs the board to utilize such contract rights as the board determines is appropriate for stream flows in order to preserve or improve the natural environment to a reasonable degree and to reduce evaporative losses from water stored at Bonny reservoir that are accounted as being consumed by Colorado pursuant to the Republican river compact.
